Overview

Textured business cards are about touch. The surface of the paper has a gentle grain or tooth, so the card feels considered the moment it is handed over. On this page there are two textured papers, two sizes and a choice of one printed side or two.

The two textured papers

One is a sturdy textured board; the other is a fine art paper with a softer, felt-like finish.

Rives Shetland is a named paper with a refined, slightly woolly texture. It is lighter than the textured uncoated board, so choose it for feel rather than stiffness.

How textured business cards print

Ink sits into the grain, which gives a soft, natural finish.

Solid areas of colour can show a little of the paper texture through them. Many designers like that; it makes the print look like it belongs to the paper. Keep very small type a sensible size, and favour bold, simple layouts. Both papers are uncoated, so they take a pen well.

Choose the standard 85 × 55 mm or a square 55 × 55 mm.

85 × 55 mm fits every card holder and wallet.
55 × 55 mm is compact and unusual, a good fit for a logo-led design.
