Overview

Thick business cards are printed here on 450gsm silk, our extra-thick board. It is stiff, it does not flex when someone takes it from you, and it makes a quiet point about how you work. Choose the sides printed, the lamination and the quantity.

What 450gsm business cards feel like

A 450gsm card is noticeably heavier and more rigid than an everyday card.

Grams per square metre, or gsm, measures the weight of a sheet. Our standard cards use 350gsm; this page uses 450gsm, which gives a firmer snap and a thicker edge. An architect, a jeweller or a financial adviser who meets clients face to face will find the extra weight earns its keep.

Extra thick business cards with lamination

You can leave the silk surface bare or add a laminate to both sides.

Lamination Finish Suits
None Smooth silk, easiest to write on Cards with appointment slots
Matt, both sides Flat and glare-free Minimal, text-led designs
Gloss, both sides Bright and reflective Photography, bold colour
Soft touch, both sides Velvety and tactile Luxury and lifestyle brands

Laminating both faces adds protection and makes the thick board feel even more solid.

Front only or both sides

Both work well on a heavy card.

  • Front only keeps the reverse plain, which can look confident on 450gsm.
  • Both sides gives room for contact details on one face and a strong image or pattern on the other.

Quantities and value

Order 100, 250, 500, 1,000, 2,000, 2,500 or 5,000.

Prices are live on the page. Each card costs less as the run grows, so a firm ordering for several staff can bring the cost per card down by sharing one longer run.

Artwork and production

Upload your print-ready artwork when you order; design help is available at checkout. Saver production is from 5 working days, and faster speeds may be offered on the product page.

Questions

Quick answers about thick business cards (450gsm).

How thick is a 450gsm business card?

450gsm describes the weight of the board, and it is the heaviest silk card we offer for standard cards. In the hand it feels clearly stiffer and thicker than 350gsm.

Is 450gsm worth it over 350gsm?

If your cards are handed over one at a time in meetings, yes. If they sit in a pile by a till, 350gsm usually does the job.

Can extra thick business cards be laminated?

Yes. Choose matt, gloss or soft touch, applied to both sides, or leave the card bare.

Can I write on 450gsm cards?

Unlaminated 450gsm silk takes a pen well. Laminated faces resist ink.

What quantities can I order?

From 100 up to 5,000, with breaks at 250, 500, 1,000, 2,000 and 2,500.

How long do thick business cards take?

Saver production is from 5 working days before dispatch. Faster speeds may be offered on the product page.
